Amazing in their knowledge, skill, organization and hands on approach

- Jerry S.

My wife and I redid a house using Trottco Enterprises as General Contractors. Having been through previous home construction and knowing we wouldn't be around for a few months watching the construction we were naturally apprehensive. After a careful search and recommendation by one of Broken Sound homeowners we picked Jim and Mike Trotto who were amazing in their knowledge, skill, organization and hands on approach to our rather extensive undertaking. Their subs were very competent and under the Trotto's supervision moved the project to a very satisfactory conclusion. They gave us continuous follow up and made changes on the fly when we thought of other additions to our very detailed contract. They were conscientious, paid attention to our desires and in fact improved many of our ideas. They had the experience to be able to tackle any unforeseen problems to our complete satisfaction. We would recommend them highly and would be willing to answer any questions one of our Broken Sounders has. They really made a usual stressful situation an almost interesting experience.

They don't start a new job until they finish yours

- Edward S.

We have just finished redoing our entire house and we had the best contractor you could find. He did almost everything and his subcontractors were also very good. They were alone for the entire 4 months and they were here every day. They finished on time. They don't start a new job until they finish yours. They don't know how to end a conversation without saying thank you very much. They sent us pictures continuously and they clean up every day as if the job is over.

Over 35 years of residential and commercial enhancement and/or construction of homes and businesses in South Florida. While several projects were designed and completed in challenging conditions, the most valued accomplishment is providing a service to our clients that they may enjoy for themselves and future generations. Our work is never complete until our clients are completely happy and feel they received more than they had envisioned.

Mike and his brother Jim started working summers at 8 years old for their father’s general contracting companies in Rochester, New York. Cosmo Trotto, (Mike and Jim’s dad) was an owner and builder for Spartan Homes and C. Trotto, Inc. Both family owned construction companies that built hundreds of homes in Upstate New York. Prior to forming the two construction companies, the family members worked for Grandpa Joseph DiPiazza in his tile and marble business, City Tile and Marble. As you may conclude by now, Mike and Jim were involved in all aspects of home construction from a very young age. Their dad Cosmo showed his boys how to build a home from the ground up and the value of giving everything you have to whatever you choose to do. Nicolas Lazanski, a master craftsman who worked with the family, painstakingly showed Mike and Jim about organization, tool care, a clean worksite, and the art of great craftsmanship. Thank you, Grandpa, Dad, and Nick! Mike moved to Florida at 19 years old and worked for Vista Light Ceilings as a ceiling mechanic. He was promoted to general manager a few short years later. The management position included running all aspects of the company inclusive of five Florida offices and over 100 employees. Thank you, Dennis! In 1984 Mike and Jim opened Trottco Enterprises, Inc. The brothers worked together on all job sites until the volume of work required a split of duties. Mike took on the business duties while Jim took on the operational side of the business. The company has grown since the early days but when you contact Trottco Enterprises, Inc. for any reason, Mike and Jim will always be readily available for your needs. Charlie Trotto, Rocco Trotto, and Brock Trotto have joined the company proudly honoring the family construction legacy. This brings the fourth generation of family members to the United States who passionately enhance our country. Thank you to all our clients for your endless confidence and friendships!

Mike has served on several non-profit boards including his community property owner’s association and a national soccer organization. Mike served his community as President, Vice President, Treasurer, and security director for over five years. His focus was on security enhancement and community beautification. The adoption of 24-hour security services was implemented under Mike’s tenure. But above all, a smile comes to Mike’s face when speaking about his years spent as Regional Commissioner for American Youth Soccer Organization Region 1370. This included oversight and management for 1,500 soccer players from ages 6-19 years old. During his years as Regional Commissioner, Region 1370 saw an increase of 300 players, development of a travel soccer club (The Boynton Knights), and initiation of a program for players with disabilities (the VIP Program). Mike can speak for hours on how fulfilling being a part of the lives of soccer families can be, and how it was a privilege to serve the children, parents, and region alongside selfless volunteers (his friends). When Mike isn’t working or serving on a board, you will find him with his family building lasting memories. Thank you, Dad and Mom, for showing us the value of living life with passion, honesty, and never judging a person until “you have walked a mile in his or her moccasins”!

Vice President

Vice President and 50% owner of Trottco Enterprises, Inc.
All operational duties including but not limited to construction scheduling, employee management/training, materials, equipment, vehicles, sub-contractors, and hands-on construction/fabrication.

Jim has created an environment for branding Trottco Enterprises, Inc. as one of the finest general contracting companies in South Florida. His training method for a clean worksite, equipment management, employee conduct, sub-contractor conduct, client relations, and expert craftmanship is not only valued but also a measure for others in the industry to achieve. It is a common communication for a colleague to use Jim as a bar to set for their firm, “watch Jim, learn his methods, and we will succeed”. Jim has the difficult task of materializing a construction concept on time, enjoyable for the client, and rewarding to all involved. His knowledge and skills make him a respected pillar of the “old-school” method of business and construction.

Jim and Mike’s history are paralleled (see family history under Mike’s Bio). Jim moved to Florida at 18 years old who also worked for Vista Light Ceilings as a ceiling mechanic. In a very short period, he became the lead ceiling mechanic performing ceiling construction and training employees in the South Florida offices.
